Individual Therapy
Have you ever felt like you were the only one struggling to get through the day or felt as though everyone else seems to have it “figured out?” If so, you are not alone. Unfortunately, today’s society has projected the best moments of people’s lives without showing us the reality of typical hardships, struggles, difficulties and really just being human. This experience may lead to that voice in your head telling you that you aren’t good enough or smart enough to achieve this so called success.
When we have the expectation that life will be easy, disappointment is inevitable. However, if we are able to learn how to view our challenges as opportunities instead of obstacles, we empower ourselves to grow instead of remaining stuck. Therapy provides the opportunity to gain awareness and challenge the ways in which we perceive ourselves, others, and the world around us. Therapy allows you to tell your story, to explore who you are today, understand why you became that person and to develop and empower you to become the person you want to be.
Starting therapy can be anxiety provoking. Maybe you’ve wondered if therapy is right for you, or how people will perceive you going to therapy, or even if you will be able to find the right words to describe how you’re feeling. I want to commend you on taking the first step by even reading this. I want to encourage you to keep going and to believe in yourself and the power within you. You deserve to make time for yourself, to explore your past, your present, and your future without judgment. Therapy can be an incredibly freeing experience, giving you permission to be human, while also encouraging and fostering compassion, kindness, and strength within your mind, body, and spirit.
If you find yourself still questioning whether therapy is right for you, please reach out and I would be happy to talk to you more about your apprehensions and answer any questions you might have.
Telehealth
I am offering telehealth sessions to anyone living within the state of California. I utilize a HIPAA compliant video-conferencing platform to meet with clients from the safety and security of their own homes. All you need is a phone, tablet, or computer that has audio and video capabilities, and a quiet/confidential space from which you can talk.
Telehealth has many benefits including access to care, lower wait times, time efficiency, and flexibility. Once we establish a day and time for our session, I will email you a unique link that you can access and it’s as simple as that.
If you have any questions regarding psychological care via telehealth, please contact me and I can try and answer them to the best of my ability.
For all insurance providers, I am considered an “out of network” provider. This allows for more flexibility in determining length and duration of treatment, determining treatment goals, as well as working with various presenting concerns. Most insurance plans cover a percentage of the cost for therapy services for out of network providers. To get more information, you can call your insurance provider to find out what their out-of-network benefits are and the percentage they cover for the CPT codes used for psychotherapy. The CPT code used for a typical therapy session is 90837. Please note that if the insurance carrier says that they cover 50%, that would be 50% of their allowable fee for the service and not my fee.
